In short
As of 5 October 2026The share price is the current price at which a stock or other security is traded. The share price (German: Kurs) comes from supply and demand. If more people want to buy than sell, the price rises. If sellers dominate, it falls.
During trading hours the price changes constantly, driven by quarterly results, interest-rate decisions or general mood. Price pages often show two prices: the bid (Geldkurs, what you get when selling) and the ask (Briefkurs, what you pay when buying).
Example: if a carmaker reports surprisingly good numbers, its price may rise from 60 to 64 euros in a day, even though nothing about the company changed overnight.
