As of 5 Oct 2026, 17:35What does MTU Aero Engines do?
Munich-based MTU Aero Engines develops and builds parts for aircraft engines, usually together with partners such as Pratt & Whitney and GE. Even more important is maintenance: engines have to be taken apart, inspected and repaired regularly. That business lasts for decades, as long as a plane keeps flying. MTU also helps build engines for military jets such as the Eurofighter.
Flying on holiday in an Airbus A320neo? Its engines may well contain parts made by MTU. The Eurofighter also flies with MTU technology.
