What does Coca-Cola do?

Atlanta-based Coca-Cola sells far more than cola: Fanta, Sprite, Powerade, Fuze Tea and many water brands. Mostly it doesn’t bottle the drinks itself. It sells concentrate to bottling companies that make the finished bottles and deliver them to stores. In Germany, for example, that is Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, a separately listed company.

Where you know it from

From Coca-Cola, Fanta and Sprite in the drinks fridge, at petrol stations and at the cinema. Fanta was actually invented in Germany in 1940.

  • Finished drinks (own bottling)41 %
Revenue share 2025

Strengths

  • One of the strongest brands in the world, sold in more than 200 countries.
  • The concentrate business needs few factories and earns high margins.
  • The dividend rose in 2026 for the 64th year in a row, and Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway has been a major shareholder since 1988.

Risks

  • Sugar taxes and the trend toward healthier diets weigh on classic soft drinks.
  • Growth is slow: revenue rose about 2% in 2025, or about 5% excluding currency effects and deals.
  • Much of the business is outside the US, exchange rates swing, and you invest in euros while the stock trades in dollars.
