What does Scout24 do?

Berlin-based Scout24 runs ImmoScout24, Germany’s largest online marketplace for flats and houses, plus portals in Austria and, since February 2026, Fotocasa in Spain. It makes most of its money from estate agents who pay a subscription to list properties. People looking for a home pay too, for example for SuchenPlus (formerly MieterPlus), which offers a digital application folder.

Where you know it from

If you look for a flat in Germany, you will almost certainly end up on ImmoScout24. If you ever booked MieterPlus or SuchenPlus, you paid Scout24 directly.

Strengths

  • The clear market leader: anyone hunting for a flat almost always checks ImmoScout24.
  • Very profitable: in 2025 about 62% of revenue was left as operating profit before depreciation.
  • Subscriptions bring in recurring, predictable income.

Risks

  • When the property market stalls, agents place fewer listings.
  • The business depends almost entirely on the German property market.
  • Competition from other sites such as Kleinanzeigen and Immowelt.
